Ethics & Edge Cases of Public Teaching

Develop a working ethics for the harder edges of teaching with reach — attribution, accuracy, the parasocial trap, teaching what you don't fully know, pricing, regional and cultural responsibility, and the AI inflection — before the moments arrive that force them. Ethics in public teaching is the postmortem you write before the incident. Most ethics is reactive — cleanup after the mistake. The discipline here is runbooks: positions on pricing, attribution, and accuracy written before they're needed, so when the moment comes — the reader misled, the framing stolen, the region demanding a position — you execute the runbook instead of ad-libbing under load. The runbook is allowed to evolve. What isn't allowed is having no runbook and calling the incident unforeseeable.
