Acting Despite the Noise — The Operational Layer

Build the pre-decided system for the noise case — both the acute protocol (what you run in the moment when the feeling is loud and the diagnostic says noise) and the standing practices (the defaults that make action-under-doubt your normal mode rather than your heroic exception). The acute protocol is the runbook for the false-positive case — pre-built so the response is automatic; improvising incident response while the alarm is screaming is the failure mode. The standing practices are architecture against backpressure. The imposter mind is event-driven: it spikes on triggers (sending a proposal, receiving feedback, posting publicly), and an avalanche of triggers produces an avalanche of spikes. The distributed-systems fix is buffering and rate-limiting; the professional-life fix is the same. The daily floor paces output, the Friday review batches meta-evaluation, the public cadence rate-limits visibility events. The system becomes reliable not because the imposter mind was fixed, but because the input pattern was smoothed. And the Friday review database is the long game: a growing table of imposter-prediction-failures — cases where the feeling said "don't" and the outcome rewarded "do." That table is the only evidence the discounting machine has genuine trouble digesting, because you collected it adversarially against your own predictions.
