The Differential Diagnosis — When It's Hiding Something Else

Distinguish imposter syndrome from depression, burnout, anxiety, perfectionism, trauma response, and real skill gaps. Apply the differential when "imposter syndrome" may be the wrong label — because the wrong label gets the wrong treatment. This is class-of-condition dispatch. Different conditions route to different handlers: depression has a CBT/medication evidence base; burnout needs structural change; perfectionism needs standard recalibration; skill gap needs skill-build. Running the imposter handler on a depression event isn't just a no-op — it's a handler that suppresses the retry logic the actual condition needs. Get the dispatch right before optimizing any handler.
